Controller Trainee Program

This program is a dynamic 12-month rotational program that seeks individuals who are interested in gaining business exposure in the financial activities and internal controls of the auto remarketing business. Manheim's mission is to develop future operating location and regional controllers and drive continuous process improvements to the finance and accounting function. Trainees will have rotations in credit, accounts receivable, payables, systems and internal controls. In this role the controller trainee will gain regional exposure through frequent travel during the training period. Trainees must relocate when placed in a full time position upon completion of the program.

The Ideal Candidate for Controller Trainee:

  • Possesses a BA or MBA with concentration in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
  • Preferably holds CPA Certification
  • Possesses 3 to 5 years of staff accounting and general ledger experience. Three (3) plus years of progressive accounting experience with at least three (3) months experience in a staff accounting role.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office and iSeries
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Is an innovative, diverse and creative thinker
  • Is open to geographic mobility and has a global mindset

Management Trainee Program

This fast-paced program is designed to provide a well-rounded, cross-functional experience over an18-month period. Throughout the program, trainees will gain valuable general management exposure in the areas of lot operations, financial services, fleet and factory operations, dealer registration and vehicle inventory management. Also, there are a number of company-sponsored training courses designed to increase your knowledge and build skills around our core management competencies. Trainees will have ongoing mentor support through completion of the program. The trainee must be willing to relocate to begin the program and more than likely a second relocation may be required upon completion of the program.

The Ideal Candidate for Management Trainee:

  • Possesses a BA/BS in management/business or related field
  • If an internal candidate, may be considered with 3 to 5 years Manheim related work experience in lieu of a college degree
  • Displays strong organization, analytical, and communication skills
  • Is an innovative, diverse and creative thinker
  • Exhibits excellent written and oral communication

Recon Manager Trainee Program

This intensive 9-12 month program focuses on the development of Reconditioning Managers. Trainees will rotate between four focus areas: detail shop, body shop, mechanic shop and administrative support. This will provide the trainees with the strong management, technical and operational fundamentals needed to successfully manage these shops. The overall focus of the program is to expose and prepare trainees for the remarketing vehicle reconditioning business. This will prepare trainees for their assignment to an operating location as a department manager or supervisor in reconditioning. The trainee must be willing to relocate to begin the program and upon completion of the program.

The Ideal Candidate for Recon Manager Trainee:

  • Holds a BA in general management/business or a related field
  • If an internal candidate, may be considered with 3 to 5 years Manheim-related work experience in lieu of a college degree
  • Is bilingual in Spanish (a plus)
  • Exhibits strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
  • Is an innovative, diverse and creative thinker
  • Possesses creative problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Is willing to relocate

MBA Internship Program

This summer program is available to MBA students with an interest in later pursuing a career with Manheim. The objective of the program is to provide a meaningful summer learning experience in marketing, finance, operations, sales and technology. This will give us the opportunity to identify and track potential employees and establish "ambassadors" for Manheim on campus.

Interns will receive a broad orientation to Manheim, the specific department and the individual work group to which they will be contributing. Developmental opportunities may include meetings with senior executives, educational workshops, departmental information exchanges, mentorship, community development events and presentations to our executives.

The Ideal Candidate for the MBA Internship Program:

  • Must be between 1st and 2nd year student, obtaining a Masters or MBA degree
  • Possesses 3 to 7 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrates academic achievement
  • Displays strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • Is an innovative, diverse and creative thinker
  • Is open to geographic mobility and has a global mindset

Undergraduate Internship Program

This summer program targets undergraduate sophomores through seniors, who wish to gain exposure to the wholesale automotive business. During the internship, our interns will get the opportunity to explore many aspects of the auto auction process at Manheim. Each week students will rotate through several key departments over a 12 week period. These opportunities are located across the country at our North American operating locations.

The Ideal Candidate for the Undergraduate Internship Program:

  • Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university
  • Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior enrolled in a 4-year degree program
  • Demonstrates academic achievement
  • Possesses previous work experience and solid leadership track record
  • Displays excellent written and oral communication
  • Exhibits strong leadership, presentation, and analytical skills
